The Gift of Daughters
First, please see the document titled "Miss Rumphius Projects 2020." Enjoy the video recording of a reading of one of my favorite books, and begin working with your Monarch to help her plan her own project to show her House how she is making the world a more beautiful place. All of the instructions for the project, as well as the technical information regarding uploading it to Flipgrid, are in the attached document. Please see original email for document. Second, I wanted to share with you all a few more details regarding our Monarch Week next week so you can plan to join in all of the fun.
Monday, 5/18 will be a day of Monarch Fun & Games! Please help us keep this a surprise: on Monday morning, your Monarch will find a fun basket of games and surprises, along with instructions, on your doorstep. Plan to have a fun family day or evening, and be sure to take plenty of pictures!
Tuesday, 5/19 will be a day of Monarch Service. I've attached a document here with suggested activities for this day. Please look ahead and think about what will work best for your family and how you can serve those around you.
Wednesday, 5/20 we will host 4 separate House Zooms for the girls to see each other's "Miss Rumphius Projects." Please see original email for these times. You will receive an email from one of the teachers in your family’s House with the Zoom meeting invitation. If your daughter is unable to attend her House's Zoom, rest assured that we will share the presentations later in the week via email. We would love to see all of the girls on the Zooms, however, so please do try to make these times work with your schedules.
Thursday, 5/21 is our last day of school and we invite you all to come to campus for a "Reverse Parade" any time between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Many of our teachers will be on campus to see the girls and send them off into the summer.
There will be several stations as you drive through, so begin to gather up the following:
• any used uniforms you'd like to donate to our uniform sale
• all books owned by Magnolia (textbooks and books from the classroom libraries)
• donations from Tuesday's service day for the East Spring Branch Food Pantry
In addition to dropping off all of the items above, you will have the chance to check the Lost & Found one last time, receive anything your daughter might have left on campus in her classroom and/or cubby, and take home a summer surprise or two from us!
We have been working hard behind the scenes to plan a wonderful final week for the girls and hope that we can send them into the summer with plenty of fun! Please let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to celebrating our accomplishments with you all!
I would also like to remind you that we have summer camps beginning June 1st with plenty of fun for varied age groups. Please spread the word to your friends who are looking for camp opportunities. We look forward to seeing many of our Monarchs at camp this summer. See our website for more details.
